Aloo Burger

Burger is a favourite snack for many of us. And I am obviously one among you all. But the only difference is I don’t try cooking a fancy burger at home (coz for that we have McDonald’s). I recently cooked simple and easy to make yet delicious burger at home which I am sharing with you all.

Making time: 10 minutes to make pudina chutney add 10 minutes to make pattice lastly add 10 minutes to make burger

Makes: 4 burgers

What goes in it:

Burger Bread- 4
Cucumber, sliced- 1
Tomato, sliced- 1
Cheese, grated- 1 cup
Butter to apply
Pudina Chutney- 1 cup
Pattice- 4

What goes in for making pudina chutney:

Mint leaves (Pudina)- ½ cup
Coriander leaves- ½ cup
Ginger- 3 cloves
Green Chilli, cut into halves- 1 chilli
Lemon juice- ½ tbl spn
Water- about less than a ¼ glass

How did I make it:

Grind all ingredients together in a grinder putting very little water. You will get lovely green coloured chutney.

Foodies’ Note: Wash off mint leaves and coriander leaves properly and drain off the water.

What goes in for making pattice:

Potato, boiled- 2 big ones
Flattened rice (Poha) - ¼ cup
Lemon juice- 2 tbl spn
Sugar-1 tbl spn
Oil- ½ tbl spn
Ginger, finely chopped- 1 tbl spn
Green chillies, finely chopped- 1 tbl spn
Salt to taste

How did I make it:

Boil potatoes (3 whistles in pressure cooker will be fine). Mash potatoes nicely after peeling them.

Foodies’ Note: You can add boiled vegetables to it but it should be minutely chopped.

Soak poha in water for about ½ hour and drain off the water.

In mashed potatoes put poha, ginger- chilli paste, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Mix them all well.

Foodies’ Note: You must be thinking why sugar??? But let me tell you lemon and sugar gives you a nice taste together. “Khatta Meetha”...

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape them into flat rounds.

Cook on a frying pan with very little oil till both the sides become golden brown.

Keeping pattice aside, let’s begin with the preparation of burger.

Now slice the each burger bread into two horizontally.

Heat the inner side of each burger bread on frying pan on low flame.

Spread butter and pudina chutney evenly on it. Place the pattice on it. Now put slices of cucumber and tomato on it.

Top it off with grated cheese.

Place the other half of burger bread on it and press gently.

Ready to eat delicious burger with tomato ketchup...
